  • About the opportunity

    SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a biologist for project work associated with the dune sagebrush lizard (Sceloporus arenicolus; DSL) throughout the range of the species. Tasks may include habitat assessments, presence/absence surveys, impact assessments, among others.

     

    What you will accomplish

    • Dune Sagebrush Lizard (DSL) (Sceloporus Arenicolus) habitat assessment, both in-field and via desktop assessment/remote analysis
    • Field delineation and mapping of DSL habitats
    • Presence/absence surveys for DSL following accepted protocols
    • Preparation of survey reports

    Experience and qualifications for success

    • Must have prior direct experience with Dune Sagebrush Lizard (DSL), including presence/absence surveys, in at least one of the states within the range of the species
    • Experience with DSL in Texas preferred
    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences
    • Experience with interpretation of aerial imagery, geographic information systems (GIS) and GIS data collection, and use of Global Positioning Systems preferred
    • Preparation of technical reports for submittal to clients and resource agencies
