About the opportunity

Do you like being a driving force in a collaborative team environment? The Rocky Mountain Plains/Pacific Northwest offices of SWCA Environmental Consultants are seeking a Marketing Manager to lead the regional marketing team, manage strategic pursuits, and contribute to regional business development efforts. The ideal candidate will work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, and possess a “do-whatever-it-takes” attitude.


Success in these areas will require collaboration with regional management, project managers, business developers, scientists, and marketing staff around the company. With their support, you will nurture and support a winning business development culture.



This position will primarily be located in either Denver, Salt Lake City, or Portland, and will require periodic travel in the region.


This position may require occasional overtime, including working evenings and/or weekends as necessary to meet submission deadlines.

What you will accomplish

You will wear many hats, but your primary responsibilities will be:

  • Leading the Rocky Mountain Plains/Pacific Northwest marketing team, supervising regional marketing staff, providing mentorship, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
  • Taking a direct leadership role on strategic pursuits, leading teams through the capture, proposal development, and interview preparation processes, clearly communicating and regulating roles, responsibilities, assignments, and deadlines with team members.
  • Assisting the regional business development team with strategic initiatives to support business growth by conducting market research, scheduling and facilitating internal business development meetings, and tracking action items.

Experience and qualifications for success



  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in marketing and pursuit coordination.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience managing and mentoring other marketing staff.
  • A demonstrated ability to efficiently manage resources, workloads, and deadlines.
  • Exceptional planning, organizational, proofreading, writing, and formatting skills.
  • Ability to lead processes and work with colleagues who have diverse interpersonal styles.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, Business, Marketing, or related technical discipline (degrees in other specialties are acceptable if relevance can be demonstrated).


  • Knowledge in environmental consulting or architecture/engineering.
  • Knowledge of local markets.
  • Experience working in Deltek Vision, SharePoint, or comparable management information system.
