SWCA Environmental Consultants is expanding their team and looking for individuals who are following their passion in delivering the highest-quality project work.

 

Your role will be to assist in project planning and execution and to produce and deliver high-quality compliance documents. Your work schedule will be flexible and responsive to changing project needs. Your work will primarily be office-based, but fieldwork and travel will occasionally be required.

What you will accomplish

  • As a core member of the Albuquerque Operations Team, you will play a key role in bringing projects to a successful conclusion.
  • In a collaborative environment, you will prepare and deliver technical documents including Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments, Biological Evaluations and Assessments, Cultural Resources Documents, and related products.
  • You will take initiative in planning and executing on project requirements.
  • You will assist, supervise and/or prepare requirements related to biological and/or archaeological field studies, permits, mitigation plans, National Environmental Policy Act documentation, biological assessments, project monitoring and other deliverables.
  • You may occasionally perform biological, archaeological, or other resource field studies as part of a project team, using topographic maps, aerial photographs, GPS units, and other maps and tools to determine exact locations of project areas, habitat types, and associated landforms.  

Experience and qualifications for success

 

 

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in biology, botany, environmental science, natural resource management, cultural resources management, or other related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 0-2 administrative and project coordination experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to play a leadership role in a team-based work environment.
  • A genuine team player and service oriented person with the ability to be flexible, multi-task, work under pressure, take initiative, be organized, and meet tight deadlines while demonstrating a professional demeanor to internal and external clients.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • Excellent writing skills and demonstrated ability to produce high-quality technical documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Proficiency with ArcGIS, Microsoft Access, and Project desirable.
  • Candidates living in the Albuquerque area are preferred. Candidates in the Durango, CO or Calrsbad, NM areas will also be considered.
