About the opportunity

The Portland office of SWCA Environmental Consultants is expanding our team and looking for a dynamic individual with experience as a NEPA assistant project manager. The ideal candidate will possess a strong skillset in consulting and project management, particularly environmental planning and NEPA compliance.

What you will accomplish

  • Serve as assistant project manager for a variety of projects
  • Contribute to the development of NEPA documents
  • Assist with managing project budgets, technical teams, and reports related to NEPA compliance documents, particularly Environmental Assessments
  • Contribute to expanding SWCA’s professional reputation in consulting and NEPA
  • Understanding and experience integrating NEPA, the National Historic Preservation Act, the Endangered Species Act, and the Clean Water Act
  • Assist with business development and proposal efforts

Experience and qualifications for success

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental planning, environmental science, biology or a related field.
  • A minimum of five years of experience preparing NEPA documents (or similar levels of experience in report completion, as well as scheduling and budgeting of projects).
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to NEPA and planning projects with excellent developer and agency references.
  • Experience working with various agency NEPA protocols and requirements, including for Bureau of Reclamation, National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, and Army Corps of Engineers.
  • Experience working with agencies directly as well as project applicants and proponents with NEPA documentation guidance and review.
