  • About the opportunity

    SWCA Environmental Consultants is looking to help in our San Antonio, Texas office.   Our Alamo City office works in a variety of businesses sectors, including land development, transportation, water, state & local government, oil & gas and renewable energy.  We are seeking someone to assist project management on a part-time, temporary basis. This position will have some flexibility in hours but will generally be fewer than 20 hours per week.

    What you will accomplish

    The successful applicants are team-players but also dynamic individuals, following their passion to deliver the highest-quality project work.  We are looking for people with an ecological background, particularly experience with Clean Water Act and National Environmental Policy Act compliance.  You will help senior project managers complete their projects, building proposals and budgets, writing, and providing regulatory guidance.

     

    Experience and qualifications for success

    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in biology, botany, environmental science, natural resource management, or other related field required; Master’s degree preferred
    • Prior report or academic authorship in a natural resources consulting context for a variety of project types and sizes, regions, and agencies
    • Able to demonstrate through report writing a knowledge of federal, state and/or local regulations (i.e., NEPA, CWA, and ESA) governing natural resource management; Texas and Gulf Coast geographic regional experience preferred
    • Possess advanced skills and knowledge in one or more specialty scientific areas (e.g., keying rare plants, conducting protocol surveys for special-status species, etc.)
