  • About the opportunity

    SWCA Environmental Consultants is expanding their team and looking for dynamic individuals who are following their passion in delivering the highest-quality project work.  Our Chicago office is looking for a self-motivated NEPA practitioner with attention to detail and strong communication skills.  Individuals need to be willing and able to work with peers across various offices and accomplish tasks associated with a variety of projects in any given week.  The ability to work directly with clients is imperative.  The interest in pursing new business is also desirable.


    We ask that you provide three professional references and a NEPA writing sample for which the applicant was a primary author.

    What you will accomplish

    Preparing and reports and deliverables related to National Environmental Policy Act, Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, technical documents, proposals and other written deliverables related to various permitting/planning and compliance projects as required.

    Experience and qualifications for success

    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in biology, botany, environmental science, natural resource management, planning or other related field required.
    • A minimum of 4 years of combined experience writing NEPA documents.
    • Working knowledge of federal, state and/or local regulations (i.e., NEPA, CWA, and ESA) governing natural resource management Nationwide.
    • Prior primary report authorship in a natural resources consulting context for a variety of project types and sizes, regions, and agencies
