  • About the opportunity

    SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking a NEPA Project Manager to join our Portland, OR team.  The selected project manager will possess a strong skill-set in natural resource consulting and project management, particularly environmental planning and NEPA compliance. 

     

    Our Portland office offers a unique work environment and specializes in Federal and Water Agencies.

     

    What you will accomplish

    • Serve as project manager for a variety of resource management and conservation planning projects, as well as preparation of NEPA documents
    • Manage projects including budgets, technical staff, and reports related to NEPA compliance documents, particularly Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Statements, with secondary expertise in natural resource disciplines relevant in the Pacific NW.
    • Contribute to expanding SWCA’s professional reputation in natural resource consulting and research
    • Assist in the writing and development of complex natural resources planning and management documents, including riparian habitat restoration, wildfire, and watershed monitoring
    • Manage diverse NEPA projects, including water resources, alternative energy, transmission, and transportation-related projects

    Experience and qualifications for success

    • Bachelor’s degree in environmental planning, environmental science, biology or a related field
    • 10-15 years of experience preparing and managing NEPA documents required (or similar levels of experience in report completion, as well as scheduling and budgeting of projects)
    • Demonstrated experience managing large NEPA and planning projects with excellent developer and agency references
    • Experience working with federal agencies such as the Army Corp of Engineers, Bureau of Reclamation, National Park Service, and Bureau of Land Management
    • Experience working with agencies directly as well as project applicants and proponents with NEPA documentation guidance and review
