Are you passionate about quality environmental work and the superior client service? SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking highly experienced, self-motivated project managers to successfully drive our projects throughout all phases from early planning and permitting through construction. You should have experience in Oklahoma and North Texas. This position will report to the Arlington, TX office and is available for distributed work for an individual to physically sit in Oklahoma or a city of thier choice, or in our Arlington, TX office. This position will support generating work in the transportation, transmission, renewable energy (Solar and Wind) as well as oil & gas industries. The ideal candidate will have connections with one or more of the above industries.

What you will accomplish

  • A core member of the Natural Resources Program, taking a lead and collaborative role in pursuing project opportunities, managing large projects and clients, and supervising and mentoring staff. 
  • Manage project requirements related to National Environmental Policy Act, Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, and other resource planning/permitting, and/or natural resource disciplines relevant in the specified region.
  • Partner, supervise and/or prepare requirements related to biological field studies, permits, mitigation plans, biological assessments, project monitoring and other deliverables.
  • Use topographic maps, aerial photographs, GPS units, and other maps and tools to determine exact locations of project areas, habitat types, and associated landforms. 
  • Attend and/or present at local, regional and national conferences and forums.
  • Support agency needs during project process.
  • This Project Manager will have expertise in all aspect of permitting, NEPA, facility siting and constraints studies, program management for energy and other infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in specialty areas including electric and gas transmission and distribution, renewable energy, and utilities highly valued.
  • Skills include the ability to manage large and complex projects and milestones within schedule and budget expectations and primarily be responsible for QA/QC oversight of field data to support report-writing and permitting. 
  • The ideal applicant will be experienced in managing multiple components and multidisciplinary staff to complete project permitting requirements.

Experience and qualifications for success

  • Bachelor’s degree in an environmental related field
  • Senior level environmental consulting project management experience, including developing and implementing budgets, schedules, proposals, scopes of work from pre-field tasks to final report preparation.
  • Strong environmental consulting business development success and consulting acumen, including established credibility with federal and state reviewing agencies and clients.
  • Experience with implementing environmental permitting for NEPA, ESA, and/or CWA.
  • Prior experience preparing of EISs and/or EAs.
  • Demonstrated success with supervising, providing leadership, and mentoring for other professionals.

Preferred: 

  • Prior environmental business development with one or more of the following industries: transportation, transmission, renewable energy (Solar and Wind), and/or oil & gas.

 

Additional Information: 

  • This position is available for distributed work in any city of your choice (physically) in the state of Oklahoma or in our Arlington, TX office.
  • Ability to travel often is required.
