This position will be involved in a variety of biological studies, including conducting biological evaluations and assessments, aquatic resources delineations, and vegetation baseline studies. The applicant should be able to work independently for 40 or more hours per week, on a sometimes unpredictable and fluid schedule. The successful candidate will be expected to accurately complete data collection, carry out field-based surveys and monitoring activities, coordinate with project and office managers, and complete other tasks as assigned. This is a regular, full-time position.

SWCA Environmental Consultants is expanding our San Antonio team and looking for dynamic individuals who are following their passion in delivering the highest-quality project work.   We are looking for a Cultural Resources Principal Investigator and Team Lead with experience in historic and/or prehistoric archaeology.  The person selected will assist to plan and execute projects located primarily in San Antonio, but also throughout Central, South and West Texas. The successful applicant will be overseeing and mentoring a mid-sized team of field archaeologists.  She or he will have a good understanding of Texas Antiquities Code, National Historic Preservation Act and National Environmental Policy Act compliance and be eligible for holding state Antiquities Code permits.  She or he will also work with the company's directors to grow the cultural resources team through excellent work and business development, including preparing technical and cost proposals.    This is a regular, full-time position.  The position is based in the Alamo City - San Antonio, Texas - and the applicant should be located in, or be willing to relocate to, that location.   The successful candidate will become part of a dynamic central Texas cultural and environmental resources planning team that enjoys excellent relationships with a wide range of local, regional, and state agencies, as well as private and nonprofit clients. SWCA Environmental Consultants (SWCA) is seeking to fill a Field Biologist position for our Sheridan, Wyoming office. Our Sheridan office offers a unique work environment and specializes in providing environmental survey and permitting to federal, state, local, and private entities. The preferred work location for this position is at the Sheridan office, however working remotely from a location within the region may be negotiable for the right candidate. This position is a temporary, full-time, with the possibility for conversion to permanent status for the right candidate.   The Field Biologist position requires an educational and experience background in biology, wildlife, range science, natural resource management, botany, or a related field. This exciting position will be a mix of field and office work, depending on project type and season, however it is primarily a field work position.   The successful candidate will be involved in a variety of biological studies, including conducting general biological surveys, evaluations and assessments in support of Endangered Species Act consultation and Clean Water Act permitting requirements, baseline studies, and environmental monitoring. Project work may include Federal land management, oil and gas development, mining, transportation, water resources, renewable energy, transmission/pipelines, mining, habitat restoration, and watershed studies. Experience with bird identification, wetland delineation, and/or northern great plaing vegetation identification is highly desirable.   The primarily field based work takes place in an outdoor environment, often remote, where the climate, weather and terrain can be demanding. The position may involve an irregular schedule and extended hours. It is anticipated that moderate travel, including overnight stays, will be required for the position. Field work will be primarily in Wyoming but may include travel to other surrounding states. Reporting and other office tasks will require working on a computer for extended periods.
