The Wetland Scientist position requires an educational and experienced background in biology, natural resource management, botany, water resources, or a related field. This position takes place in an outdoor environment, often remote, where the climate, weather and terrain can be demanding. The position may involve an irregular schedule and extended hours. SWCA's Pasadena Cultural Resources Program is actively seeking an entry to mid-level archaeologist (HR Title = Cultural Resources Technician) to join our multi-disciplinary team in Pasadena, California. This is an on-call, hourly position, and pay will be based on individual qualifications and experience.
In this role you will be expected to perform desktop reviews and web-based queries for cultural resources throughout southern and central California. Work will involve utilizing a variety of online tools including ArcGIS Online, Google Earth, Field Maps, Smartsheet, and Fulcrum. This position offers a unique opportunity to apply practical knowledge of California cultural resources to a desktop-based review system. Reviews will be performed in a fast-paced environment working within a larger, collaborative team. This position will require phone and email communication with the client. It will also intermittently require work beyond regular business hours. There is potential for cross training in this role for several programs that vary from cultural review to coordination and support. A key element of your job will be to independently supervise archaeological survey crews in the field.

SWCA is looking for an Assistant Project Archaeologist who will act as a field director, based out of our Denver, Colorado, office to assist with a variety of projects in Colorado, Wyoming, and surrounding states. Project work will likely include pedestrian surveys, shovel testing, and may include excavation or other field tasks. You will lead crews in identifying cultural materials, collecting data with tablets, recording sites using state-specific protocols, and making National Register of Historic Places evaluations. You will coordinate with the project manager daily to planning and coordinate fieldwork.
This is an on-call, hourly, regular-status (benefitted) position. You will typically work a full-time schedule, depending on workload. A typical schedule for summer work is 8-9 days on, 5-6 days off. We are currently looking for assistance for spring, summer, and fall fieldwork with the potential for winter office work. The successful candidate will lead and contribute to the growth of our in Honolulu team and contribute to business development efforts in the region.
