SWCA Environmental Consultants is expanding its Northern California cultural team and looking for dynamic individuals who are following their passion in delivering the highest-quality project work.
SWCA Environmental Consultants is seeking an Assistant Project Archaeologist (HR Title: Assistant Project Archaeologist - Field Director (on call)) within our Northern California Cultural Resources Program to support our Sacramento office. Under supervision of a Cultural Resources Team Lead and Project Manager, a Field Director performs field and office tasks while working with and supervising crew members.
Field Directors manage all aspects of fieldwork, supervising one or more crews of archaeological surveyors, monitors, or excavators. Field Directors may also assist with office-based tasks, including the preparation of site forms and technical reports. Pay rate will be based on individual qualifications and experience. Some projects include overtime hours and often require travel and overnight stays.
Anticipated fieldwork will occur throughout northern California, as well as central and southern California and Nevada, including within active U.S. military facilities. The candidate may be asked to submit to background screening in order to work on these facilities. Candidates local to northern California are strongly preferred and experience with northern California cultural resources is required.
